Authentic Mexican street tacos, made by hand on Ness Avenue. La Taqueria is a family-owned taqueria bringing the recipes of Córdoba, Veracruz to Winnipeg — fresh tortillas, homemade salsas and churros, served for dine-in, takeout and catering.
Our food is made by Cristhel Pipper, who moved to Winnipeg from Córdoba, Veracruz in 2019 after marrying her husband Lyle Jackman, a longtime Sunny St. James resident. In the summer of 2021 the couple opened La Taqueria Mexican Street Tacos at 1863 Ness Ave Unit B, and Tourism Winnipeg soon featured the shop as a genuinely authentic taco destination in the city.
The Cuatro Amigos and Al Pastor Pork tacos are what regulars order first, alongside a deep bowl of Sopa de Birria. Round the table out with Totopos and Beans, Frijoles Charros and Mexican Red Rice — every plate built on fresh tortillas, homemade salsas and traditional Mexican street food recipes.
We keep it casual and quick: dine in at our Ness Ave taqueria, grab takeout or in-store pickup, or order online for a group. We also cater across west Winnipeg — St. James, Silver Heights, Crestview, Deer Lodge, Westwood, Glendale, Wolseley, Charleswood and Daniel McIntyre — for family dinners, office lunches and celebrations.
